Types of Inheritance
There are basicaly two different way of inheritance:
- by way of a testament OR
- by way of intestate inheritance
Inheritance by way of a will is normally what will be used in a deceased estate. The will is a written document signed by the testator. This written document will explain how he or she want to distribute their assets.
This could be a simple distribution or some cases very spesific distrubutions to various parties.
Inheritance by way of intestate will occur when no will was signed by the testator.
In this case spouses and kids of the testator will inherent according to certain rules and contributions according to the Intestate Succession Act 81 of 1987.
